Ces positions sont en partie celles des socialistes de l’époque. Il existe cependant des divergences sur des questions comme le colonialisme, le soutien aux Boers ou la critique de la guerre italo-ottomane. Profondément antimilitariste et collectiviste, La Sentinelle veut amener la population neuchâteloise à rejeter la guerre et à se révolter contre les inégalités sociales qui frappent les ouvriers. Journal à la fois socialiste chrétien et marxiste, il est le principal canal de diffusion des idées socialistes dans les régions jurassiennes et neuchâteloises. |
