| Summary, etc. | Le chineo est une coutume héritée de l’époque coloniale selon laquelle un homme criollo s’introduit dans les communautés indigènes pour avoir des relations sexuelles avec leurs femmes. Parfois librement consenties, ces unions sont toutefois souvent réalisées avec violence. Les plaintes pour viols commencent à être davantage entendues par la justice argentine. L’analyse d’un procès tenu en 2007 souligne le rôle joué par des travaux anthropologiques et historiques dans l’argumentaire de l’un des juges. |

| Summary, etc. | Chineo, a practice inherited from colonial times, involves a criollo man introducing himself into an indigenous community in order to have sexual relations with indigenous women. These relations, although some may be consensual, are nonetheless most often characterized by violence, a fact which has made the Argentinean state begin to pay more attention accusations of rape. Through the analysis of a trial which took place in 2007, the author highlights the role of anthropological and historical research in one of the judges’argumentation. |
