| Summary, etc. | Cet article explore les logiques de la reproduction sociale de l’esclavage chez les Yuqui, une population autochtone d’Amazonie bolivienne contactée par des missionnaires à la fin du xxe siècle. Auparavant, l’organisation sociale des Yuqui se caractérisait par une structure hiérarchique et la présence d’esclaves nés au sein du groupe. À partir d’un travail ethnographique chez ces anciens nomades, l’auteur examine les rapports entre la logique matrimoniale et la reproduction des esclaves dans ce système patrilinéaire. Il se focalise sur le rôle paradoxal joué par les femmes de statut non esclave, engagées dans des mariages temporaires destinés à produire des enfants esclaves. Cette recherche soulève des questionnements sur l’enchevêtrement de ces dominations et leurs effets sur les relations de parenté. Il s’agit également d’une contribution aux débats sur les relations de dépendance en Amazonie. |

| Summary, etc. | This article explores the logic of the social reproduction of slavery among the Yuqui, an indigenous people of the Bolivian Amazon who were contacted by missionaries in the late twentieth century. Before then, a hierarchical structure and the existence of slaves born within the group characterized the Yuqui social organization. Based on ethnographic fieldwork among these former nomads, the author examines the relationship between matrimonial logic and the reproduction of slaves in this patrilineal system. He focuses on the paradoxical role played by women of non-slave status, engaged in temporary marriages aimed at producing slave children. This research raises questions about the complexity of these forms of domination and their effects on kinship relations. It is also a contribution to the debate on relations of dependency in Amazonia. |
