520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The role of violence in a case of psychosis: disorder or crutch? We have tried to show, through the analysis of a case of analytical treatment, that the violent behaviour of certain psychotics is not only the consequence of an aggressive and devastating relationship with the specular other (the self or the other), the antechamber of a relationship of persecution with the outside world, but also a defence. This defence does not have the solidity of a symbolic substitute, but can maintain the subject for a certain amount of time in "structural hesitation," in other words, on the threshold of a definite clinical structure, in this case paranoia. Violence can become a kind of "treatment" for the psychotic, when he or she manages to transform it, to turn it into a crutch for his/her existence.
