L’infection à VIH est une affaire de sang, de sexe et de mort qui focalise ainsi des craintes réelles et imaginaires, constituant une surface de projection à nos peurs. Le VIH est l’un des agents de la transmission transgénérationnelle, organisatrice des liens familiaux. Toute explication sur le sida confronte l’enfant à des questions fondamentales comme celles sur les origines, la filiation, la sexualité et la mort. Les parents infectés envisagent l’actualité de la sexualité à l’adolescence comme une période propice à la révélation, comme si le risque de contamination à nouveau possible, rouvrait la chaîne du secret. Le travail proposé ici indique la possibilité aux descendants de s’extraire d’un ordre ancestral aliénant et mortifère, afin d’occuper une place au sein du groupe familial en co-construisant une histoire partagée. Ainsi, le parent sera appelé à se situer comme l’agent privilégié de la transmission, alors que celle-ci l’avait astreint à se démettre de sa position de sujet désirant, celui-ci ne pouvant que survivre ou bien errer comme un spectre. |

When the Deferred Action of Adolescence Revisits Primary Relationships. ‘The Dead and their Offspring.’ HIV is intimately linked with the question of blood, sex and death, a focal point for both our real and imaginary fears, a screen onto which they are projected. HIV is also a vector of transgenerational transmission and an organising force in family bonds. Explaining Aids to a child necessarily confronts that child with fundamental questions on origin, filiation, sexuality and death. Parents infected with the virus often take adolescence, when sexuality becomes a topical issue, as the right time for revealing they are HIV positive to their children, as if the risk of contamination were once again on the cards, breaking the chain of secrecy. This article explores the ways in which descendants manage to remove themselves from an alienating and death-bringing ancestral order to occupy a place within their family based on the co-construction of a shared past. In this light the parent has to assume the position of privileged agent of transmission, where transmission itself had obliged them to refute their position of desiring subject, condemning them to the existence of a drifting ghostlike figure. |
