| Summary, etc. | Cet article propose un ensemble de résultats et de méthodes portant sur l’exploitation des injures telles qu’elles sont reportées dans les données de « Cadre de Vie et Sécurité » (CVS), enquête annuelle française portant sur la victimation. Une large part du document est consacrée au traitement effectué sur cette source textuelle. L’article s’attache ensuite à explorer la nature des injures en fonction des caractéristiques des victimes. Le rôle de la saillance des traits ethniques est ensuite abordé à travers une méthode de détection originale. Notre principal résultat est que la saillance du critère ethnique n’est pas directe et apparaît dépendante du statut social de la victime. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper presents a set of results and methods for statistical analysis of slurs. Slurs were reported by victims in the French “Cadre de Vie et Sécurité” (CVS) national victimization survey. A large part of the analysis is devoted to statistical textual treatment of slurs, from the short sentences available in the data. Next the paper explores the relationship between types of slurs and victims’ attributes. The focus is then on ethnic saliency, using an ad hoc methodology. Our main result is that ethnic saliency is linked to social status: people of foreign origin are more likely to receive racist slurs if they belong to a lower status social group. |

| Summary, etc. | Der Artikel präsentiert Ergebnisse und Methoden für die statistische Analyse von Opferwerdungen mit einem rassistischen Bezug in der jährlich durchgeführten nationalen Opferbefragung (“ Cadre de Vie et Sécurité” CVS). Ein Hauptteil des Beitrags ist der Analyse von Textdaten in der Untersuchung gewidmet. Der Artikel interessiert sich dabei insbesondere für die Art der rassistischen Angriffe in Abhängigkeit von Merkmalen des Opfers. Über eine spezielle Methode wird die Bedeutung der Sichtbarkeit ethnisch rassistischer Differenz herausgearbeitet. Dabei zeigt sich eine Abhängigkeit der Angriffe vom sozialen Status: Menschen erfahren mehr rassistische Angriffe, wenn sie eine niedrigen Statusgruppe angehören. |
