| Summary, etc. | Puget de La Serre is a perfect example of an author with a bad reputation during the seventeenth century. If we compare the role that satirical texts of his time gave him with some of his editorial practices, it becomes clear that La Serre emerges an agent of the deidealization of the Belles-Lettres that openly reveals their economic issues. By destabilizing the established social order of authors, the La Serre case could therefore fall within the jurisdiction of infamy, or even a scapegoating, in that it reveals the structural paradoxes of the early modern literary field, which includes in the form of exclusion, the bare, economic, and material life of the authors within it. |

| Summary, etc. | Puget de La Serre est un cas exemplaire de mauvaise réputation d’auteur au xviie siècle. En confrontant le rôle que les textes satiriques de son temps lui donnent et certaines de ses pratiques éditoriales, on montre que La Serre apparaît comme un agent de la désidéalisation des belles-lettres, dont il révèle ouvertement les enjeux économiques. En déstabilisant l’ordre établi du monde social des auteurs, le cas La Serre relèverait dès lors de l’infamie, voire du processus du bouc émissaire, dans la mesure où il donne à voir les paradoxes structurels du premier champ littéraire, qui inclut sous la forme d’une exclusion, la vie nue, économique et matérielle des auteurs qui y participent. |
