| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’Afrique a été durement frappée par la crise mondiale. Au départ exogène et de nature financière, cette dernière a exacerbé d’autres crises préexistantes localement. Le continent, à l’instar de la République démocratique du Congo, pays test à bien des égards, pourrait vivre des remises en cause profondes, annulant les progrès antérieurement réalisés. La crise impose des réponses à court terme avec l’appui des institutions internationales. Mais elle requiert aussi que des changements plus fondamentaux soient engagés. Elle pourrait être l’occasion à saisir par les États pour entreprendre des réformes structurelles radicales et renforcer leur gouvernance. |

| Summary, etc. | Africa has been hard hit by the international crisis. Initially exogenous and above all financial, it has exacerbated various internal crises already present in the region. Like the DRC, which is a test case in many respects, Africa could experience severe setbacks that could cancel out the progress made over the past years. What is needed are short-term responses with support from international institutions. But deep reform is also required. This could be an opportunity for States to implement radical structural reforms and strengthen their governance. |
