| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article propose l’analyse d’une controverse qui s’est développée en 2004 autour de l’organisation d’une manifestation scientifique consacrée à la prostitution. Après la présentation de la chronologie de cette controverse, des différents acteurs et de leurs modes d’intervention, l’article s’arrête sur la nature des arguments échangés et tente de dégager les différents registres de justification des acteurs intervenus dans cette polémique. Celle-ci s’inscrit par ailleurs plus largement dans le débat déjà ancien autour de la prohibition ou de la légalisation de la prostitution qui a été réactivé au cours des années récentes par les politiques diamétralement opposées mises en œuvre dans des pays européens comme la Suède d’un côté et les Pays-Bas ou l’Allemagne de l’autre. |

| Summary, etc. | On the organization of a seminar on prostitutionThis article analyses a controversy which developed in 2004 around the organization of an academic seminar on prostitution. After the presentation of the chronology of this controversy, of various actors and of their modes of intervention, the article considers the nature of the arguments exchanged and tries to separate out the various types of justification used by actors in this polemic. This fits in addition more largely into the already old debate around the prohibition or legalization of prostitution which was reactivated in the recent years by the diametrically opposed policies implemented in European countries like Sweden on one hand and the Netherlands or Germany on the other. |
