Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | Feminist strategy and revolutionAt a time when few things are proving to be stable, critical theory has very few conceptual resources at its disposal to talk about radical social change. According to Wendy Brown, critical theory has not even carried out the necessary grieving process in order for it to accept the loss of the concept of revolution in its classical Marxist sense. This article starts with an analysis of how far an extremely narrow and androcentric vision of the traditional structures of revolution engenders inconsistent scenarios regarding the transition from revolutionary struggle to a projected utopia. It then shows that, in contrast, the watchword of the second women’s movement, which consisted of refusing to wait for the revolution and starting, step by step, to carry out the work relating to the utopia, constitutes a more convincing approach to change — which should neither present itself as “only” being reformist, nor limit itself to questions of identity. |

Summary, etc. |
