| Summary, etc. | L e pilotage par la performance des établissements scolaires a redéfni les responsabilités des personnels de direction en élargissant leur rôle au domaine pédagogique. Pour améliorer les acquisitions des élèves, ces acteurs doivent désormais conduire la pédagogie dans les établissements scolaires en recherchant la participation des enseignants, conformément à un « management participatif ». Cet article étudie les modes d’action que construisent les personnels de direction d’établissement secondaire avec les enseignants dotés traditionnellement et officiellement de la liberté pédagogique. Appuyé sur des entretiens semi-directifs avec une population diversifiée de directeurs (ou d’adjoints), ce texte montre que ces acteurs s’inscrivent dans trois régimes d’action : régime d’incitation, régime d’imposition et régime d’accompagnement. Ce texte présente ces régimes avec leurs propriétés puis aborde leur effet sur les établissements scolaires, discute des bénéfces et des coûts pour les acteurs et le fonctionnement des établissements secondaires. |

| Summary, etc. | The headteachers modalities of action T he management of the secondary schools in France modified the headteachers responsibility widening the role in pedagogic field. To improve the pupils achievements, these actors have to conduct the pedagogy in the secondary schools with the teachers participation. This text studies the modalities of action of the headteachers of secondary school with teachers, empowered of teaching liberty. Many interviews conducted with a diversifed headteachers population show the use of three modalities (regimes) of action : incitation regime, imposition regime, supporting regime. This writing introduces these regimes with properties and treats the effect on the actors and the organisation, the advantages and the costs. |
