| Summary, etc. | Cet article se penche sur deux tendances présentes dans les systèmes éducatifs contemporains mais qui sont rarement reliées. Il s’agit de la valorisation des diversités amenées par les élèves à l’école et des réformes éducatives centrées sur les résultats. Dans un premier temps, nous analyserons les raisons qui font qu’au-delà d’une valorisation rhétorique la diversité culturelle des élèves est encore considérée plus comme un problème au lieu d’une opportunité pour l’école. Dans un deuxième temps, nous examinerons la mise en œuvre par les politiques éducatives de réformes centrées sur des orientations d’inspiration néolibérale comme la privatisation, la redevabilité ou la bonne gouvernance. Enfin, nous verrons que la privatisation de l’éducation contribue à la diminution de la mixité socioculturelle dans les écoles et les classes et exclut de nombreux élèves d’une scolarité pouvant leur permettre d’avoir une mobilité sociale. |

| Summary, etc. | The impact of neoliberal politics on education : tensions between the consideration of diversities and standardization.This article focuses on two tendencies in contemporary educational systems which are present but rarely connected. It hinges on the valuing of diversities pupils bring to school and results-centred education reforms. We first examine why, apart from in rhetorical valuation, the pupils’ cultural diversity is still considered more as a problem rather an opportunity for schools. Secondly, we look at the implementation through educational policies of reforms built around neoliberal-inspired perspectives like privatization, accountability or good governance. Lastly, the paper shows that privatization of education contributes to a lowering of the level of socio-cultural mixing in schools and classes. It also indicates how that process excludes many pupils from schooling which could enable them to attain social mobility. |
