Summary, etc. | Surnommé le « modèle protestant », l’éducation mutuelle a caractérisé la pratique éducative des premières écoles du dimanche comme le rappelle aujourd’hui le nom de « moniteur » donné à ses éducateurs. Nous inscrivant dans le champ de l’histoire des idées éducatives, à partir de l’analyse des pratiques pédagogiques de ces premières écoles populaires protestantes qui a servi dès 1814/1815 de levain au renouveau des écoles primaires protestantes françaises, peut-on dire qu’elles ont été le berceau du modèle lancastérien en France ? La « méthode des groupes » serait-elle « le modèle canonique » protestant, symétrique à l’enseignement simultané comme « modèle canonique » catholique ? Nous vérifierons l’hypothèse du pluralisme des modèles choisis comme des « outils » par les pédagogues protestants selon des critères d’efficacité davantage praxéologiques que théologiques, à partir des publications des premiers acteurs français du mouvement. |

Summary, etc. | The Lancasterian Model of Education, a Protestant Model? Nick-named the “protestant model”, peer tutoring characterised pedagogical practice in the first French Sunday schools, as the fact that its facilitators are still called “monitors” recalls. Written from the perspective the discipline of the history of pedagogical ideas, can the analysis of the pedagogy in use in these first Protestant schools for the people, which gave rise in 1814 and 1815 to the rebirth of French Protestant elementary schools, let us posit that these schools served as the incubator for the Lancasterian model in France? Is “peer-tutoring” the Protestant “canonical model”, in a way that would be symmetrical to seeing group teaching as the Catholic “canonical model”? We will test the hypothesis of a plurality of models chosen as “tools” by the Protestant pedagogues according to criteria of efficacy more praxeological than theological, basing our reflexion on the publications of the first French actors of the movement. |
