Summary, etc. | Cet article a pour objet de montrer que les représentations culturelles influencent la transmission d’une technique du corps (Mauss) : l’apprentissage de la nage. Nous avons mis en évidence l’existence de représentations culturelles de l’eau. Celles-ci participent à l’enseignement de la nage en Chine et en France. La méthodologie employée pour cette recherche s’appuie sur une approche comparative de l’enseignement de techniques du corps (Mauss, 1950) au travers de questionnaires, d’entretiens et d’observations. L’originalité de ce propos repose sur la démarche d’un questionnement culturel des apprentissages moteurs. Ceux-ci sont généralement abordés dans leurs aspects techniques, et non pas au regard d’un vécu culturel et des représentations. Pourtant, l’influence de la mondialisation des techniques sportives (Terret, 2011) sur les pratiques physiques interroge la spécificité des pratiques culturelles. En natation, les positionnements culturel et éducatif reflètent les représentations singulières. |

Summary, etc. | This paper focuses on showing how cultural representations influence the transmission of a physical technique (Mauss): swimming. We show the existence of cultural representations of water. These are part of learning to swim in China and in France. Our methodology is based on comparing the acquisition of physical techniques in different cultures (Mauss, 1950) through questionnaires, interviews and observation. The originality of the research resides in questioning the cultural nature of motor acquisitions. These are usually studied from a technical standpoint, and not from the point of view of the cultural representations they embody. Yet the effect of he globalisation of sporting techniques (Terret, 2011) on physical practices has a cultural dimension. In swimming, teaching and cultural positions reflect singular representations. |
