| Summary, etc. | La Cité des Métiers est un projet pédagogique qui propose aux élèves d’un collège populaire de la Suisse italienne une série de situations d’apprentissage leur permettant de découvrir la ville avec ses métiers. En interrogeant à la fois la bonne forme scolaire et la structure des relations de pouvoir au sein de l’établissement, il représente un point focal vers lequel convergent un ensemble de processus sociaux. Il est exploré par une démarche ethnographique, réalisée à l’issue d’une action décennale de l’un des animateurs, centrée autour de trente récits de vie d’acteurs impliqués, mis en relation avec d’autres données et analysés par une méthodologie plurielle. Cette démarche fait émerger une conceptualisation ancrée empiriquement, autour d’une participation responsable différenciée des élèves à l’appropriation du savoir et d’un jeu triangulaire entre acteurs sociaux de l’établissement. En mettant en relation l’univers scolaire avec le monde du travail, ces vecteurs ouvrent une brèche, certes fragile, vers un collège effectivement unique, puisque équitable, pouvant rendre l’école un pivot de démocratisation de la société. |

| Summary, etc. | The Cité des Métiers is a pedagogical project which offers the students in an under-privileged middle school of Italian Switzerland a series of learning situations through which to discover their town with its different professional activities. By questioning both the adequate school format and the structure power relationships within the school, it sets up a focal point for a number of different social relationships. This focal point has been analysed using an ethnographic methodology over the course of ten years by one of the facilitators of the project, who has focused on thirty autobiographical narratives of related to other data and analysed using plural approaches. This initiative enables the emergence of empirically anchored concepts based on the responsible and individuated participation of students in the appropriation of knowledge and ion a triangular relationship between the social agents in the institution. By putting school and work environments in relation, these vectors open up a pathway, however fragile, towards an effectively universal, that is fair and equitable, Middle School, which could transform school into a central factor in the democratisation of society. |
