Summary, etc. | Cette note de synthèse souhaite présenter la manière dont les sciences sociales se sont intéressées à la décentralisation de l’école en France. Elle s’appuie sur une approche quantitative et qualitative de la bibliographie existante en langue française. Objet complexe, puisque le processus est en cours depuis 1982, la décentralisation de l’éducation a longtemps été étudiée à l’intersection de l’analyse savante et de l’expertise des politiques publiques, avant d’être saisie – non sans débat – par les sciences sociales. Avec la reconnaissance accrue des collectivités locales depuis les lois dite Defferre, la question des politiques éducatives locales constitue un thème montant des études. |

Summary, etc. | This paper focuses on [resenting synthetically the way the social sciences have studied the decentralisation of the school system in France. It relies on a qualitative and quantitative study of the existing bibliography in French. This is a complex object, since the process has been going on since 1982 and was for a long time seen as at the intersection of scientific study and public policy expertise before being invested – not without debate – by the social sciences. Since the so-called Deferre laws, the growing recognition of local administrations has made the issue of local educational policies an increasingly important theme of these studies. |
