| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article établit des rapprochements entre l’analyse par Turgot du marché du prêt d’argent et la théorie du rationnement du crédit. Turgot, dans sa critique des lois sur l’usure, a souligné les conséquences néfastes des rigidités nominales sur le marché du crédit, argument central de la théorie du rationnement du crédit de déséquilibre. Sur cette question, apparaît l’antériorité de l’apport de Turgot relativement à Smith qui est pourtant reconnu comme ayant le premier introduit cet argumentaire. La modernité de Turgot est également mise en exergue puisqu’il prend en compte des causes endogènes au marché du crédit pour expliquer les rationnements. |

| Summary, etc. | This article deals with the contribution of Turgot to Credit Rationing Theory. By criticising usury laws, Turgot showed the negative influences of external rigidities on the credit market. Given that this argument is at the core of Desequilibrium Credit Rationing Theory, we underline the founding contribution of Turgot. Furthermore, we show that Turgot’s analysis came before that of Smith, who is traditionally mentioned as the instigator of Credit Rationing Theory.
