| Summary, etc. | RésuméLe règne de l’empereur Octave César Auguste est une des rares moments historiques qui apparaissent dans les deux estorias alphonsines : l’ Estoria de Espanna et la General estoria. L’analyse présentée ici des usages différents de la (même) histoire à des fins distincts montre à quel point les alphonsins savaient mettre à profit toutes les ressources historiographiques dans un projet multidimensionnel. Mais la révolution épistémologique alphonsine ne se limite pas à l’historiographie, mais s’étend aussi à d’autres éléments de la culture, de la science et de la loi. Dans l’ensemble du projet alphonsin, on peut observer une interpénétration de ceux-ci, du pouvoir et de la langue. |

| Summary, etc. | The rule of emperor Octavian Cesar Augustus is one of the few historical moments that is narrated in both of the Alfonsine histories: the Estoria de Espanna and the General estoria. The analysis presented here of the different use for different ends of what is ostensibly the same narration, shows the extent to which the Alfonsine compilers were able to take advantage of all of the historiographical resources at their disposal. But the Alfonsine epistemological revolution is not confined solely to historiography but rather extends to other elements of culture, science and, law. In the totality of the Alfonsine project, we can see the interpenetration of all of these and language and power. |

| Summary, etc. | La narración del imperio de Octaviano César Augusto es uno de los pocos elementos historiográficos que aparecen en las dos estorias alfonsíes: la Estoria de Espanna y la General estoria. El análisis de los usos diferentes de la (misma) historia para fines distintos presentado aquí muestra hasta qué punto los alfonsíes sabían aprovecharse de todos los recursos historiográficos en un proyecto multidimensional. Pero la revolución epistemológica alfonsí no se limita a la historiografía, sino que se extiende también a otros elementos de la cultura, la ciencia y la ley; en su totalidad, se aprecia una interpenetración de estos y el poder y la lengua. |
