Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | According to the Freudian conception, memory is made up of active reminiscences the subject is reminded of, demanding of him/her a psychic task of transformation and actualisation. The subject recalls without remembering, recalls in dreams, transfers and symptoms that unbeknown to him/her commemorate the forgotten chapters of their story. Using two clinical examples, the author shows that forgetting is a way of recall, recalling a question left in a form of anguish that eludes one’s memory. The forgotten one is not erased and tends to come back in all the subject’s ways of being and saying. This unconscious knowledge of memory tends constantly to smuggle itself into the manifest discourse of shared meanings. The subject writes into what he/she says and unbeknown to him/her another text that he is inevitably unable to read at the time of writing it. |
