Freud à donner cinq leçons sur la psychanalyse ; on sait moins qu’il a représenté une déception supplémentaire pour Freud dans l’adhésion à ses idées. En retraversant les éléments contextuels de leur relation, nous découvrons les enjeux à la fois théorico-cliniques et personnels qui ont contribué à la rupture entre les deux hommes. Leur correspondance, composée de trente et une lettres de 1908 à 1923 (dont quatorze de Freud), ouvre sur un échange qui condense les enjeux manifestes et latents de leur relation, centrés sur l’imaginaire père-fils. |

| Summary, etc. | Stanley Hall is known to have invited S. Freud to give five lessons on psychoanalysis ; the additional deception of Freud about Hall and the acceptance of his ideas is less known. In the context of their relation, we discover the theorical, clinical and personal elements wich contributes to the breakdown between the two men. Their correspondence, composed by thirty one letters between 1908 and 1923 (fourteen of Freud) condense the manifest and latent stakes of their relationship, based on the father-son imaginary. |
