| Summary, etc. | RésuméIl arrive que dans les instants intenses qui suivent la naissance d’un enfant, un élément de la réalité vienne faire énigme pour la jeune mère. Face à cette énigme, la mère parfois se met en retrait : elle reste fonctionnelle, opérante mais absente à l’attente du bébé. Ce bébé n’a alors d’autre recours pour survivre que de s’identifier à l’absence maternelle : il devient l’absence, signant là une des formes de l’autisme. L’analyse du contre-transfert chez le thérapeute, lui-même face à l’absence de l’enfant comme en miroir de l’enfant face à l’absence maternelle, permet de comprendre les processus à l’œuvre. |

| Summary, etc. | In the tense moments following the birth of a child, an element of reality may well appear as an enigma to the young mother. Confronted with it, she may well step back and take a certain distance: she does fulfil all her duties as a mother, but she does not answer the baby’s expectations. The baby, then, has no other solution to survive but identify itself to the mother’s absence: the baby becomes that absence, a form, at this point, of autism. The analysis of the counter-transference at the therapist’s, who is then faced with the absence of the child just as the child is faced with the absence of his mother, helps understand the process at work. |
