| Summary, etc. | Le processus de création de la plateforme coopérative de VTC (Véhicule de transport avec chauffeurs) “Maze” résulte d’une résistance organisée contre Uber. À partir de deux enquêtes auprès des chauffeurs et des acteurs de l’écologie et du coopérativisme de plateforme, cet article montre que le management algorithmique engendre une souffrance au travail vécue comme un déclencheur d’un alter (fonctionnement organisationnel innovant et protecteur au sein du capitalisme). L’incarnation de cet alter par Maze s’actualise dans une amélioration des conditions de travail par la gouvernance participative et dans le projet de devenir acteur de la transition socio-écologique. L’approche critique de la communication organisationnelle défendue ici appelle à faire de l’ alter un champ de recherche. |

| Summary, etc. | The process of creating the VTC (ride-hailing services) cooperative platform “Maze” is the result of an organized resistance against Uber. Based on two surveys of drivers and actors of ecology and platform cooperativism, this article shows that algorithmic management generates suffering at work experienced as a trigger for an alter (innovative and protective organisational functioning in capitalism). Maze’s embodiment of this alter is reflected in an improvement of working conditions through participatory governance and in the project of becoming an actor in the socio-ecological transition. The critical approach to organisational communication advocated in this study calls for making alter a field of research. |
