Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Patriarchy, biological filiation and fathersIdealization of the father seems to persist even after the decline of Christianity and patriarchy. However, the fall of the father imago continues to be more a cause of anxiety than of joy. The history of monotheistic civilizations, the evolution of law and the complexity of psychoanalytical theories on the father enable us to consider “new parenthoods” other than with a feeling of insecurity. The dissociation of biological filiation, of transmission and of authority has long been part of our culture and of the family and personal histories of subjects. The fundamental question, as in Freud and as always, is the one of transmission, more fundamental perhaps than the exclusive question of fatherhood and patriarchy. |
