520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | When Work Breaks the Body – from Environmental Pressure to Unthinkable Depression. This article explores the clinical case of Mrs M. who had been suffering from traumatic neurosis for over two years after an accident in her place of work. The accident took place against a backdrop of traumatic external (overload of professional duties, harassment in the workplace and the death of her mother) and internal realties (pain and suffering caused by moral harassment, bereavement and loss). Her case raises the question of the central, regulatory function of the ‘work object’ in the psychosomatic economy of the individual, and in this particular case of an individual who had recently lost a close family member. |
