Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse la notion de performance telle qu’elle est utilisée dans la recherche en esthétique du spectacle vivant, à travers le cas du maracatu de baque solto, forme spectaculaire dite traditionnelle du Pernambuco, État du Nordeste du Brésil. La catégorie dans laquelle le maracatu s’intègre à la culture populaire, la brincadeira, permet dans ses spécificités d’aborder les usages du corps dans leurs divers régimes d’immanence, même si ces usages construisent avant tout les conduites esthétiques de tout un groupe. À travers les différentes performativités, soit les corporéités esthétiques codifiées et systématisées, émergent les négociations et stratégies sociales auxquelles se prêtent les sujets en fonction de la spectacularité qu’ils veulent bien laisser apparaître. Derrière une forme « folklorisée » et mercantilisée par le carnaval, les techniques du corps et la connaissance de l’héritage performatif dont le maracatu provient montrent combien les construits d’une esthétique ne relèvent pas d’une performativité unique et isolable de l’expérience du quotidien, mais plutôt d’une pluralité de rapports que le performer entretient au monde. En utilisant les altérités surgies de ses pratiques, il élabore des jeux modelant l’espace et le temps avec lesquels il est en interaction. |

Summary, etc. | Performative legacy and social construction of maracutu de baque solto(Pernambuco, Brazil); the aesthetic contribution of THE study of performance to an anthropology of the use of the body This article analyses the notion of performance as used in the research of performing arts’aesthetic, through the case of the maracatu de baque solto, which is a « traditionnal » performance of Pernambuco, a state from the northeast of Brazil. The category into which the maracatu is integrated to the popular culture, is the brincadeira. Its specificities allow to approach the uses of the body on various levels of its regimes of immanence, even if they are mainly constructing an entire group’s aesthetic. Through the various performativities, or codified and systematized aesthetic behaviors, social negotiations are emerging. The subjects create them according to the spectacularity they want to reveal. Behind the « floklorized » and mercantile form the carnival convey, body’s techniques and knowledge of the performative heritage from which the maracatu comes from, show how the aesthetic construction doesn’t originate from an unique aesthetic behavior isolatable from the everyday experience, but rather from a plurality of relations the performer maintains with the world. Using the alterities arised from its practices, the performer elaborates games modeling the time and space he is in constant interaction with. |
