| Summary, etc. | L’ablation du larynx, pour des individus ayant surinvesti l’oralité toute leur vie (fumeurs, gourmands, chanteurs), constitue une mutilation difficilement représentable de l’extérieur. Les structures archaïques, au fondement du développement de l’enfant, sont définitivement atteintes : c’est la respiration, le souffle, l’odorat, le goût et la parole devenue impossible par suite de l’ablation des cordes vocales. Une trachéotomie permanente ne fera que compléter ce tableau clinique dans lequel l’atteinte narcissique est essentielle. |

| Summary, etc. | The removal of the larynx, for those whose over-investment of orality has been a lifelong characteristic (smokers, gourmets, singers), is a mutilation which is difficult to appreciate from the outside. Archaic structures, at the base of child development, are permanently affected : respiration, breath, the senses of smell and taste, and speech which become impossible following the removal of the vocal cords. A permanent tracheotomy merely completes this clinical picture which constitutes a fundamental attack on narcissism. |
