| Summary, etc. | Étudié à partir de ses textes « en forme d’énigmes », le mouvement punk apparaît comme un moment tout à fait singulier et éminemment politique. En se faisant chambre d’écho d’un certain nombre d’événements culturels passés, le dadaïsme, ou actuels, la psychanalyse anglo-saxonne, ce moment punk, en prise avec les mutations de l’après-guerre, a inventé des moyens formels minimalistes, pour mettre en scène la chute des idéaux, sans s’engloutir dans le nihilisme. Coupant court à toute idéologie, il radicalise la critique de la culture et tend un miroir à la société anglaise (et européenne) pour penser la question politique fondamentale de l’après-guerre : les États ont-ils encore une légitimité ? Comment faire face au nihilisme institutionnel, et aux injonctions contradictoires du post-nazisme ? |

| Summary, etc. | The punk divide : questions on performativity The punk movement, studied via its” riddle-like” texts, is seen as a completely exceptional and highly political period. Acting as an echo chamber for a certain number of past cultural events, such as Dadaism, or contemporary ones, such as Anglo-Saxon psychoanalysis, this punk period, grappling with post-war changes, invented minimalist forms of expression, to act out the decline of idealism, without surrendering to nihilism. Refusing all ideologies, punk radicalized the critique of culture and held up a mirror to British (and European) society, to reflect on the single fundamental political question in the post-war period : are states still legitimate ? How can one stand up to institutional nihilism, and the contradictory precepts of post-Nazism ? |
