Summary, etc. Antibiotic resistance is a growing concern for public health, given the increase in the number of resistant bacteria. A particularly critical facet of this phenomenon is cross-resistance, such as Chlorhexidine antibiotic cross-resistance. Oral biofilms, as a complex ecological niche, can serve as a reservoir for opportunistic microorganisms able to survive, persist and develop resistance genes. Species such as Pseudomonas æruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniæ, Staphylococcus aureus, d’acinobacter baumannii, which show cross-resistance to chlorhexidine and antibiotics, have been identified in oral biofilms. This cross-resistance phenomenon makes it more difficult to manage either infectious diseases in critical settings, and oral diseases, and deserves to be further studied.

Summary, etc. La résistance aux antibiotiques est une préoccupation croissante pour la santé publique, du fait de l’augmentation du nombre de bactéries résistantes. Une composante particulièrement critique de ce phénomène sont les résistances croisées, dont un exemple saillant est la résistance croisée entre la chlorhexidine et les antibiotiques. Les biofilms oraux, en tant que niche écologique complexe, peuvent constituer un réservoir pour les micro-organismes opportunistes capables de survivre et de développer des gènes de résistance. Des espèces comme Pseudomonas æruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniæ, Staphylococcus aureus et Acinobacter baumannii, montrant une résistance croisée à la chlorhexidine et aux antibiotiques, ont été identifiées au niveau des biofilms oraux. Ce phénomène de résistance croisée complique la gestion et la prise en charge des différentes pathologies infectieuses en soins critiques, mais aussi la prise en charge des pathologies orales, et mérite d’être davantage étudiés.
