Rites and rituals have an important function in social, family and individual organization. This progressive fading might have symptomatic consequences shown in the work of family therapy and teenage therapy. Ordeal behavior, the symbolic void, the weakening in adult status and the harmful effect of the loss of rituals on social cohesion, on a space and time level, invite us to rethink a therapy including the initiation rite. |

| Summary, etc. | Cet article tente de préciser des concepts tels que le rite, le rite d’initiation et les rituels ; leur historique et leur actualité conduisent à en constater la progressive disparition. L’auteur met l’accent sur leur importance dans l’organisation sociale, familiale et individuelle. La clinique des familles et des adolescents est le premier témoin des effets parfois symptomatiques de leur déliquescence. Les comportements ordaliques, le vide symbolique, la fragilisation du statut d’adulte et l’effet néfaste de la perte des rituels sur la cohésion sociale, tant au niveau spatial que temporel, nous invite à repenser une clinique du rite d’initiation. |
