| Summary, etc. | In the early 2000s, the use of imaging technologies in international airports was extended to detect of objects carried under passengers’ clothing. While the use of these instruments has been criticized, particularly for the risk of significant intrusion into passenger privacy, they have also been praised for the comfort they provide and their presumed ability to limit or even eliminate physical contact with security personnel. This article examines both the process of elaborating the regulations currently in place for using these scanners in French airports and the work put into redefining these digital body searches as tools of comfort and protection of fundamental rights. |

| Summary, etc. | Au début des années 2000, l’usage des techniques d’imagerie dans les aéroports internationaux s’est étendu à l’exercice de repérage des objets transportés sous les vêtements des passagers. Si le recours à ces instruments a fait l’objet de critiques, notamment quant au risque d’intrusion importante dans l’intimité des passagers, ces outils ont néanmoins été loués pour le confort qu’ils procurent et leur présumée capacité à limiter voire supprimer les contacts physiques avec les agents de sûreté. Cet article propose de revenir sur l’élaboration des réglementations qui encadrent l’usage de ces scanners dans les aéroports français. Il interroge, à partir des normes d’utilisation, le travail de requalification de ces fouilles corporelles numériques comme outils de confort et de protection des droits fondamentaux. |
