Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Santiago H. Amigorena’s work combines two kinds of remanences, a remanence of modern writing and a remanence of “classical writing”: though fueled by modern references, his writing is structured as representation (or mimesis), because it is largely autobiographical and motivated by a traumatic past whose primary symptom is silence (itself distributed over several generations and across several aesthetic regimes). This combination does not deal with the past (the past of language, the past of history) in a “retrospective” (conservative) way, but in a “prospective” way, like a “becoming minoritarian,” and as such it perfectly illustrates the emergence of a form of writing. |
