| Summary, etc. | Regional integration brings much more than growth and trade opportunities to Africa. It is a strong factor in political stability and peace. This role is actually acknowledged by the Charter of the United Nations. Along with the well known political organizations such as SADC or ECOWAS, WAEMU and Comesa are doing an essential job, albeit somewhat technical, by bringing about various improvements in the everyday lives of millions of entrepreneurs and citizens. This is the reason why so many nations of the North are providing a growing amount of official development aid to these regional organizations. |
