Summary, etc. Understanding the fight against impunity involves analysing the field of law in which it is the most omnipresent: international criminal law. International criminal law was put in place following Nuremberg, and was stabilised in the 90s for judging war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. It is presented as primarily targeting the fight against impunity. This contribution offers an empirical analysis of the fight against impunity, from a particular source: interviews conducted with people judged (condemned and acquitted) by international criminal courts. This material sheds new light on the way this justice system works, making the fight against impunity be seen as selective, and with sometimes serious consequences. The impact of international criminal law must consequently be re-evaluated.
