Summary, etc. The Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7th, 2023 and the subsequent war led by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank gave rise to several official Israeli statements calling for new interlocutors to be found in Palestine. The search for interlocutors deemed legitimate and capable of taking charge of a post-conflict political process is an inherent mechanism in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Israeli-Palestinian relations. It is accompanied by a process of political disqualification, which in its ultimate stage includes assassination of Palestinian leaders. This process is based on four main mechanisms related to negotiation, governance, cooperation, and expression of opposition, which produce different effects (intransigence, incompetence, irresponsibility, discredit) maintaining the political weakness of Palestinian leaders. The disqualification process, along with the order of discourse, fits into a broader pattern of repression, specific to the colonial system, aiming to maintain controlled instability, ensuring an unequal power balance imposed by Israel and the pursuit of its colonial policy.
