Summary, etc. The scientific literature shows that siblings contribute to the social development of their brothers or sisters. However, the influence of siblings on the social skills of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) differs from study to study. Thus, this study (n = 39) aims to explore the effect of the presence or absence of siblings on the level of social adaptation of children with ASD, for children aged six to twelve. It also assesses the effect of having (or not having) a younger sibling and/or an older one. This study suggests that it would be beneficial to include siblings in interventions with children with ASD so as to improve the outcome.
