Summary, etc. The concepts of identification, projection and projective identification play an essential role in family consultation parents/baby. They are also valuable tools to explore the partition of prenatal subtle interrelationships between the processes of parenting and being born human. From his clinical experience, the author develops a hypothesis: the classic definition of “pathological projective identification” corresponds to psychological variations of the standard “good enough mother” in early pregnancy. Malformation anxieties during pregnancy can illustrate this hypothesis.
