| Summary, etc. | Selon Murray Stein, ce que le sujet envieux envie chez l'autre, en raison d'une relation moi-soi perturbée, c'est le soi, un soi projeté sur l'autre. Cette projection laisse le sujet vide, le prive de toute possibilité d'accéder au soi et génère en lui une haine envers la personne enviée, objet d'envie ou soi-objet. En raison d'un fond culturel chrétien ancré en chacun de nous, cette envie est souvent mise en ombre et vécue comme une énergie destructrice, alors qu'elle pourrait bien être le symptôme d'un élan contrarié vers la complétude psychique. D'où le travail analytique que doivent effectuer, entre autre, les personnes qui souffrent d'envie chronique pour rendre cette envie consciente afin de pouvoir l'évacuer et de restaurer la relation entre le moi et le soi. |

| Summary, etc. | According to Murray Stein, what the envious subject covets from the other is the self. Due to his or her own disrupted inner ego-self relationship, this self is projected onto the other, leaving the subject empty, unable to reach the inner self. Feelings of hatred towards the object of envy, or object-self are generated. Due to the Christian ethics with which we are all inculcated, this envy is often hidden, experienced as a destructive force. Stein suggests that it could be construed as a drive towards psychic wholeness which has encountered opposition, hence, the analytic work with chronically envious patients must strive to bring this envy to light, in order to evacuate it and heal the relationship between the ego and self. |
