| Summary, etc. | Cet article retrace les premiers engagements en psychiatrie de Nise da Silveira dans le Brésil du début du XXe siècle, puis les rencontres qui l’ont marquée, dont notamment celle de C.G. Jung, et son action de pionnière pour offrir à des malades souvent hospitalisés depuis longtemps des conditions et des moyens d’expression et de communication qu’elle n’a cessé de valoriser et de développer. L’auteur évoque aussi l’histoire, souvent dure, de plusieurs de ces malades, en même temps que l’étonnante créativité qui leur a été donné de vivre dans les institutions créées par la Doutora Nise. |

| Summary, etc. | This article retraces Nise da Silveira’s contribution to psychiatry in Brazil in the early XXth century, and the encounters which marked her, especially the one she had with C.G. Jung. She pioneered a movement to offer patients, many of whom had been hospitalized for long periods of time, the opportunity and means to express themselves and communicate, and she continually enhanced and developed such programs. The author also mentions the difficult stories of certain patients, in parallel with the amazing creativity they were able to express in institutions founded by Doctor Nise. |
