On souligne aussi les différents procédés propres à l’hagiographie décelables dans ces écrits, ce qui suggère que les auteurs ont tenté de construire une aura de sainteté autour de Jacinta. |

| Summary, etc. | Taking as a starting point the biographies of Soror Jacinta de São José – founder of a Brazilian convent of the Carmelites – and some private letters written to her confessor, the object of the present study is to examine how Jacinta’s image of an exemplary religious life was constructed according to the XVIIIth century female Catholic model of sanctity. The paper also emphasizes the use of hagiographic resources present in these writings, suggesting that their authors made clear efforts to attribute sanctity to Jacinta. |
