| Summary, etc. | RésuméLorsque qu’en 1897, Freud a lu le livre de Kleinpaul, Les vivants et les morts, il s’empare d’une formule – « la mort est un mort » – qui va l’aider à souligner que les représentations et les pensées de la mort recouvrent des souhaits sexuels. Après avoir traduit quelques passages de l’œuvre de Kleinpaul, nous montrerons que « la mort est un mort » resta un leitmotiv freudien jusqu’à ce que Freud fasse soudain volte-face en 1912, et affirme que le souhait sexuel pour une femme belle et mutique cache des pensées sur la mort elle-même. |

| Summary, etc. | When Freud red Kleinpaul’s book Die Lebendigen und die Toten in 1897, he seized an expression – « The death is a dead » – which helped him to underline that the representations and thoughts of the death cover sexual wishes. After translating some passages of Kleinpaul’s book, we will show that « the death is a dead » remained a Freudian leitmotiv till Freud suddenly turned round in 1912 and said that the sexual wish for a beautiful and silent woman hides thoughts about death itself. |
