| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’artiste n’a pas à être soumis à la psychanalyse, dans la mesure même où l’œuvre d’art constitue en soi une solution inconsciente, alternative à celle du symptôme – ce qui invalide quelque « psychanalyse appliquée » à l’art. Cela pourtant n’implique pas quelque impunité inconsciente ou désabonnement à l’inconscient à bon marché : non seulement parce que le symptôme coexiste régulièrement avec la « création », mais parce que dès lors qu’il expose ou s’expose, produisant un effet sur le spectateur, celui-ci a le droit de savoir comment l’effet opère – c’est en tout cas le désir freudien qui l’oriente du même coup vers les arts plastiques qui donnent le temps, sinon le loisir, de conjoindre un savoir à la jouissance. Aussi bien la névrose, en miroir, cesse d’être chez Freud un simple objet psychopathologique pour se poser en « œuvre d’art de la nature psychique » – métaphore qu’il faut prendre à la lettre. C’est dans l’art des refuse, détails ou déchets précieux, que culminent l’art de l’analyste aussi bien que la prise de l’œuvre d’art dans le regard freudien. La traversée de ce trajet, de l’objet du fantasme à la chose sublimée, fait entendre, au-delà de toute esthétisation de l’inconscient, le constat de Lacan que, du précédent de l’artiste, l’analyste a « à prendre de la graine ». |

| Summary, etc. | The artist should not be subjected to psychoanalysis, considering the fact that the work of art itself constitutes an unconscious solution, an alternative to the symptom – which invalidates a sort of “applied psychoanalysis” to art.This does not however imply unconscious impunity or reducing the importance of the unconscious: not only because the symptom coexists regularly with “creation”, but because from the moment that the artist exhibits or exposes himself, creating an effect on the spectator, the spectator has the right to know how the effect is produced – at any rate it is Freudian wish which simultaneously guides him towards the visual arts that allow time, if not leisure, to link a knowledge to an enjoyment.With Freud, neurosis just as well, in reflection, ceases to be a simple psychopathological object to posing as “a psychological work of art” – a metaphor meant to be taken literally. It is in the art of refuse, details or precious waste, that the analyst’s art culminates just as well as the Freudian view of art. Time spent on this journey, from the object of fantasy to the sublimated thing, leads to, beyond all esthetisizing of the unconscious, the understanding of Lacan’s statement that, preceding the artist, the analyst needs to “take a leaf out the book”. |
