La passerelle de verre et d’acier qu’il a conçue pour une aile de l’ancien Palais des congrès de Nuremberg propose au visiteur une quasi-immersion dans le bâtiment, tout en le maintenant à distance et en contraignant son déplacement. L’article montre comment ce dispositif architectural, qui repose sur la transparence et sur la métaphore de la traversée, joue sur des dimensions opposées pour tenter de contrer et d’abolir l’intention d’éternité et la grandiloquence de l’architecture nazie. La proposition architecturale se transforme alors en processus et la visite devient passage. |

| Summary, etc. | The aim of Günther Domenig’s architectural project, built in a wing of the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg, is to provoke a reflection on National Socialism architecture. His added architectural features make use of transparency as a metaphor for crossing and also to counter and get rid of the quest for eternity and the grandiosity of the Nazi architecture. Opposite dimensions are combined in order to question the initial dynamics of the place. The glass-and-steel bridge lures the visitor into the illusion of being immersed into the building while actually barring him from entering and forcing him to move in a certain direction. This architectural system becomes a process and the visit becomes a crossing. |

| Summary, etc. | ResumenLa meta del proyecto arquitectónico de Günther Domenig es inducir una mirada reflexiva sobre la arquitectura del nacional-socialismo al proponer un dispositivo de visita en ruptura con el propósito de la construcción inicial. La pasarela de vidrio concebida para un ala del antiguo Palacio de congresos de Nuremberg propone al visitante una cuasi-inmersión en el edificio, y a la vez lo manitiene a distancia al restringir su desplazamiento. El presente artículo muestra cómo dicho dispositivo arquitectónico, basado en la transparencia y en la metáfora de la travesía, juega con dimensiones opuestas para intentrar contrarrestar y abolir la intención de grandilocuencia y eternidad de la arquitectura nazi. La proposición arquitectónica se transforma así en proceso y la visita deviene en travesía. |
