520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. With Freud, there are various ways in which psychoanalytic knowledge can be linked to mythology: interpretation of myths by psychoanalysis, but also, conversely, recourse to myth, as in the case of President Schreber, with the intention of deciphering and understanding the formations of the unconscious. However, Freud is also a mythographer: by questioning himself in his correspondence with Einstein on his new discipline, worried by the idea of having only created a new mythology, he is immediately able to offer modernity a new myth, that of the horde presented in Totem and Taboo. Finally, Freud uses myths to explain difficult psychoanalytic theses (this is the case with the Aristophanes myth), but also as a methodological paradigm justifying the general application of his individual discoveries, thanks to Oedipus and especially to Hamlet.
