| Summary, etc. | Cet article questionne les rapports entre le travail social, la démocratie, les recherches participatives et le travail social radical. Nous montrons en quoi le travail social radical contribue à du renouveau d’une plus grande justice éco-sociale et d’un nouveau contrat démocratique dans le contexte de la défiance exprimée par une partie de la population européenne. Le regard critique posé ici sur la participation des acteurs aux politiques publiques questionne les liens que le travail social entretient avec le contexte politique, économique et social, son pouvoir d’influence sur des enjeux démocratiques locaux, nationaux et globaux. La science joue également un rôle dans ce renouveau démocratique et les recherches participatives peuvent, si elles sont conduites avec la radicalité et selon les principes exposés dans cet article, devenir à nouveau un instrument des transformations démocratiques, politiques et sociétales, par la redéfinition des rapports du pouvoir, en se concentrant sur les racines des inégalités qui touchent les sociétés occidentales aujourd’hui. |

| Summary, etc. | This article looks at the relationship between social work, democracy, participatory research and radical social work. We show how radical social work contributes to the renewal of greater eco-social justice and a new democratic contract in the context of the distrust expressed by a part of the European population. This critical look at the participation of actors in public policies examines the links that social work has with the political, economic and social context, and its power to influence local, national and global democratic issues. Science also plays a role in this democratic renewal and participatory research, if conducted with radicality and according to the principles outlined in this article, can become once again an instrument of democratic, political and societal transformations by redefining power relations and focusing on the roots of the inequalities that affect Western societies today. |
