Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse l’usage de l’humour par les femmes dirigeantes sur leur lieu de travail. La revue de la littérature montre que les femmes subissent, dans ce domaine comme dans bien d’autres, un double standard : ce qui est perçu comme valorisant pour un homme est parfois perçu comme dévalorisant pour une femme. Afin d’analyser comment les femmes dirigeantes utilisent l’humour sur leur lieu de travail, nous avons réalisé 13 entretiens approfondis avec des femmes dirigeantes. Nos résultats enrichissent la littérature en montrant la diversité des usages de l’humour par les femmes dirigeantes sur leur lieu de travail. Certaines se l’interdisent strictement. La plupart l’utilisent en étant extrêmement attentives à la situation dans laquelle elles se trouvent. Toutefois, quelques-unes affirment l’utiliser volontiers. Ces résultats permettent d’identifier les conditions qui rendent possible l’usage de l’humour par les femmes dirigeantes sur leur lieu de travail. |

Summary, etc. | This article analyzes the use of humor by women leaders in the workplace. The literature review shows that women, in this field as in many others, are subject to a double standard: what is perceived as valorizing for a man is sometimes perceived as devaluing for a woman. In order to analyze how women leaders use humor in the workplace, we conducted 13 in-depth interviews with women leaders. Our results enrich the literature by showing the diversity of uses of humor by women leaders in the workplace. Some of them strictly refuse to use it. Most of them use it while being extremely attentive to the situation in which they are. A few use it willingly. These results allow identifying the conditions that permit the use of humour by women leaders in the workplace. |
