| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa maladie génétique et tout ce qui s’y rapporte questionnent l’hérédité, la transmission et confrontent aux questions difficiles de l’héritage, de la culpabilité et des dettes. Difficilement pensable, gérable, voire symbolisable, elle est souvent peu parlée et tenue sous silence. Par cet article, les auteurs tenteront de montrer comment l’occurrence d’une maladie génétique dont on ne parle pas dans une famille peut constituer un secret familial ; secret qui, tacitement partagé par la fratrie, peut devenir « tabou ». Ils aborderont les difficultés que le non-dit dans sa double dimension de « secret » et de « tabou » impose à ceux qui, au travers d’une recherche de « vérité », tentent de se libérer des chaînes imposées par le secret. Au désir de libération du secret s’oppose parfois, en effet, l’interdit de transgression du « tabou » qui est venu organiser les liens fraternels. |

As it is difficult to think of, to manage, even to symbolise, it is often less spoken of and kept silent. In this article, the authors will try to indicate how the instance of a genetic disease, if not shared among a family, may become a family secret, which, tacitly shared by the siblings, may become a “taboo”. They will tackle the difficulties that what is left unsaid imposes, in its double dimension of “secret” and “taboo”, on those who, by means of a quest for “truth”, try to free themselves from the chains imposed by the secret. Indeed, the desire to be freed from the secret is sometimes opposed by the transgression of the “taboo” that came to organise fraternal links. |
