| Summary, etc. | La présente étude a pour objectif d’examiner l’efficacité de l’intervention Cercle de sécurité parental (COSP) (Cooper, et al., 2009) qui vise à favoriser un attachement sécurisant chez les enfants d’âge préscolaire, notamment en stimulant le développement de la fonction réflexive parentale (FRP). Deux groupes de 12 mères ont été soumis à des mesures pré- et post-test, l’un d’eux ayant reçu l’intervention et l’autre non. Les résultats ont révélé une augmentation de la FRP chez les mères ayant reçu l’intervention alors qu’aucun effet n’a été observé chez les mères du groupe de contrôle, suggérant ainsi que l’augmentation est attribuable à l’intervention. Ces résultats confirment les bienfaits de l’intervention auprès d’une population à faible risque et appuient son utilisation au sein des services publics de première ligne et communautaires. |

| Summary, etc. | This study’s objective is to assess the effectiveness of the Circle of Security–Parenting program (COSP) (Cooper, Hoffman and Powell, 2009), which aims to promote a secure attachment in preschool children by enhancing parental reflective functioning (PRF). Two groups of 12 mothers, one receiving the intervention and the other one not, participated in pre- and post-measures. The results show an increase in PRF for the mothers in the intervention group; no change occurred in the control group, suggesting that the effects are due to the intervention. The results support the effectiveness of COSP in a low-risk population and add to a small but growing body of literature suggesting that COSP provision in community-based services may be warranted. |
