520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. “Apollon in Le Vieil-Évreux: from Lugus to Saint Taurin” Resuming the study of the Apollo from the Vieil-Evreux, a Gallo-Roman bronze sculpture discovered on the sanctuary in 1840, this work has as an aim to propose a new interpretation of it, while examining with precision how the process of interpretatio romana could lead to the formation of such an uncommon iconography. Thinking about the Gallo-Roman evidences, in the light of renewed approaches of the monumental phases of the sanctuary, and the medieval local hagiographic traditions, it leads to regard both institutionalization and architectural development of the latter as the result of a process in which Celtic religious traditions may have play a significant role.
