| Summary, etc. | L’intérêt porté aux parures du corps par les historiens, historiens de l’art et archéologues s’est largement modifié, renouvelé et amplifié depuis un siècle, en particulier ces quinze/vingt dernières années. Cet article présente ainsi les différentes orientations de la recherche consacrée au vêtement, entendu au sens large. Il montre, en outre, qu’étudier les parures du corps est un biais pertinent et fécond pour mieux comprendre le fonctionnement des sociétés anciennes et la place qu’y occupent les individus ; aussi, met-il en exergue tout l’intérêt d’adopter une démarche historique et anthropologique. |

| Summary, etc. | The Body and Its Adornments in Graeco-Roman Antiquity: A Historiographical Survey.Interest in bodily adornments on the part of historians, art historians, and archeologists has considerably changed, developed, and expanded in the past hundred years, especially in the last fifteen to twenty years. The present article thus surveys the different focuses of research on clothing in the broadest sense. It shows, besides, that the study of bodily adornment is a relevant and fruitful channel to better understand the functioning of ancient societies and the place of individuals in them; hence the emphasis on the interest of a historical and anthropological approach. |
