| Summary, etc. | Plusieurs maisons luxueusement décorées de Séleucie-Zeugma (les maisons 1, 2 et 3) contiennent une pièce dont les murs étaient couverts de tableaux de femmes en pied. Pas moins de douze femmes étaient peintes sur les murs de la pièce P30 de la maison 3. Certaines femmes peuvent être identifiées (Pénélope, Déidamie, l’amazone Prothoé), mais la plupart restent anonymes. Une étude de ces trois pièces, de leur situation dans l’organisation spatiale de chaque maison et de l’identité des femmes représentées nous conduit à penser que ces pièces étaient probablement des gynécées occupés durant la journée par les femmes de l’ oikos. |

| Summary, etc. | Women in Paintings and Gynaikeia in Seleucia at ZeugmaSeveral well-to-do houses in Seleucia at Zeugma (the houses 1, 2 and 3) contain a room whose walls were decorated with full-length paintings of women. In the room P30 of house 3, as many as twelve women were painted. Some of these women painted in Zeugma houses can be identified through inscriptions (Penelope, Deidamia, the amazon Prothoe), but most remain anonymous. The examination of these three rooms, their location within the organization of the houses, and the identity of these painted women allows us to assume that these rooms were probably gynaikeia occupied by the women of the oikos during the day. |
